    What this job involves

    Our Portfolio Accountant is taking off to see the world so we are now looking for someone to join our Property & Asset Management/Finance team located in our central Auckland office overlooking the harbour. Here you will be part of a fun, inclusive and close-knit team that helps the business to achieve best practice performance levels across our offices in Auckland, Christchurch & Wellington.

    Reporting to the Finance Manager and Head of Property & Asset Management, you will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and reporting for a portfolio of properties.

    This is a part-time opportunity for 20-25 hours per week across 5 days, ideally from 10am to 3pm, however for the right person, we can be flexible around the hours each day.

    You will be positive, self-motivated and passionate about ensuring the success of the firm. You will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and be professional, reliable and friendly with the ability to work successfully in a team.

    A self-starting attitude is a must and you will be confident in building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team who won’t be afraid to roll your sleeves up and muck in.

    We'll expect you to have some key skills and experience including:
    • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
    • Forward thinking with an entrepreneurial
    • The ability to work fairly independently in a deadline driven environment
    • Proficient Excel skills - pivot tables, formulas and v-lookups
    • Knowledge of MRI would be advantageous, but not essential
    • Exceptional communication and time management skills
    • The ability to build and foster successful working relationships with internal team and external clients
    • Hands-on practical approach and willing to take responsibility for their own portfolio
    • Ideally a tertiary level accounting qualification or comprehensive experience in a similar role; and
    • Property or services’ experience is highly regarded but not essential.
